Creativity: Concept and Findings

The present book is based on the author's extensive investigation in the

area of creativity. It studies the concept of creativity and its related

problems. The findings have been analysed the brilliantly interpreted.

There has been abiding interest in analysing the nature of creativity and

its measurement. In spite of a plethora of literature on the subject one

fails to find consensus regarding the very nature of creativity which is a

vital force behind the development and growth of individual as well as

society at large. Shamshad Hussain's present work is a significant

contribution in the study of relevant characteristics of creative

behaviour. Students of psychology will immensely benefiit from the salient

findings packed between the covers of this book. Teachers, lay readers, and

Shamshad Hussain (b. 1940). Professor Emeritus (Patna University) did his M. A. and Ph. D. (Psychology) from Patna Univ. in 1960 and 1969 respectively. He was Vice Chancellor of Magadh Univ. Bodhgaya (Bihar), served as Chairman Bihar State Univ. Service Commissio, Patna; Vice Chancellor, Nalanda Open Univ., Patna Univ. Prof. and Head, Deptt. of Psychology, Patna Univ. Chief of Patna Univ. Employment, Information and Guidance Bureau and Director, Minority Coaching Centre sponsored by UGC in Patna Univ. He was also the Chancellor's nominee to Patna Univ. Syndicate as reputed educationist. He is also member of the Central Advisory Borard, Govt. of India on physically handicapped. He is the member of Award Committee of Maulana Azad Education Foundation, Govt. of India, New delhi. he has been nominated as International man of the Year in 1993, 1994 and 1995 by American Biographical Institute, USA. He is the recipient of Vijayshree Award. He has attended International Conference of the Directors and Vice Chancellors at Singapore in 1996 on Distance Education. He was also invited to chair the technical session at the International Seminar on Counselling and Psychotherapy by the International Islamic Univ. Malaysia in 1997.

He has authored "Adjustment and its Measurement", "Human Adjustment: Measures and Findings", "Creativity: Concept and Findings and Elementary Statistics in Psychology and Education" besides the present book entitled "Understanding of Human Behaviour" which has been translated in Urdu by Dr. Zakia Mashhadi and Published by Khuda Baksh Oriental Library, Patna hindi translation of the book is also to be published by the same institution very soon. He has developed 'Mohsin-Shamshad Adaptation of Bell's Inventory' and 'Shamshad-Jasbir Old Age Adjustment inventory'. His poetic collection 'Ahsas' is to be published soon. He has contributed about 150 research papers and popular articles published in national and international journals and newspapers in English, Hindi and Urdu. He has produced nineteen. Ph. D. Scholars. His specialized areas of study are Adjustment, Creativity, Test Construction and Distance Learning.
